About the RoleAccountable for the overseeing the Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities. Coordinate laser fixture layouts for optimum efficiency of machine capacity and manpower, Proper maintenance of the laser equipment and spare part planning. Drive cycle time and change over time reductions while maintaining product quality.
Your ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative.
- Develop and drive improvements such as cameras, auto alignment of fixtures, improve cutting speeds and quality.
- Benchmark best-practices. Develop and roll out standards that support those practices. Provide input to standard work instructions.
- Develop methodologies to improve change over times.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing methods & principles
- Make equipment recommendations and participate in design specifications in support of new programs to ensure successful launch
- Participate in design reviews with suppliers to ensure that laser tech and fixtures is developed to support internal and customer requirements.
- Record & monitor results of process improvement effects on efficiency, machine up-time, scrap, and other indicators
- Train shop floor team members in the operation of Trumpf laser equipment
- Participate in engineering review for optimum efficiency and reduction of waste
- Support with new program development, run part simulations, collision simulation, and other laser software program
- Develop & improve reporting systems
- Housekeeping & other duties as assigned
- Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
- Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
- Know and follow all applicable SH&E Policies and Procedures.
- Industrial Engineering degree preferred (4 year B.S. university or college) or
- Associate degree in Automation required; 3 year laser experience required
- Advance PLC training/ Automation training
- Fanuc Laser programming / Auto CAD
- GD&T classes / general maintenance
- Manufacturing operations, supervisory and/or related technical experience
- Hands on experience with Fanuc Laser Robots
- Experience working with Trumpf laser system
- Experince with Trutops, CATIA, SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Able to write and troubleshoot PLC programming
