Job Description

ENSCO, Inc., Mission Systems Group (MSG) is seeking an Operations Support Orbit Analyst to support the Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS) technical and operational support services contract.

The position is initially located in Suitland, Maryland and will transition to Boulder, Colorado within a year of the start of the contract. The successful applicant will be expected to relocate to Boulder, Colorado for the role.

The orbit analyst will work in the system operations center performing monitoring and analysis of space traffic products and computational processes. The operations center will be staffed 24/7 so the contractor personnel should expect shift work. These shifts will be in nine hour increments, with exact hours to be determined by the customer.

Duties include:Perform monitoring and analysis of space traffic products and computational processesRespond, as required, to operational issues relating to space traffic coordination, and to technical issues associated with the operations center or system to ensure the safety and stability of the space operating environmentParticipate in the development of and ensure that procedures, operational displays, and other job aids are in place for operational needs and technical troubleshooting, coordinate with commercial operators, and take appropriate actions (including resolution of technical issues) to ensure continued provision of safety servicesCoordinate with stakeholders as required in the execution of mission operationsParticipate in the development of training materials and training activities to support the onboarding of members of the government and commercial operational teams

Qualifications Required (Skills)

• BS Degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Math, Computer Science, or related field

• 5-10 years of experience

• Experience with software systems, development environments, or programming languages (Python, Linux)

• Experience in Satellite Operations, and Orbital Analysis.

• Experience performing Collision Avoidance (CA) for mega-constellations.

• Ability to understand Space Situational Awareness (SSA) data.

• Experience analyzing orbital state vectors and propagated ephemerides with covariances.

• AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
