About the role

As the Senior Product Manager of our Platform Technology team, you will push the boundaries of what is possible in the retirement asset transfer space. You'll work on a highly collaborative team responsible for developing and maintaining the core systems that support our digital rollover experience, fulfillment automation, and service provider integrations. This is a high impact team, having significant impact on the US retirement system by unlocking new paradigms to ease and simplify retirement asset transfer.

This role requires someone who can navigate complex technical landscapes, think in systems, and manage the full lifecycle of product development - from discovery to ideation to launch and beyond. Your ability to understand technology at a deep level, coupled with your ability to organize complex work, will be key to driving the success of our platform.

We're looking for a user-centric, technical, high-energy self-starter who can find innovative solutions to hard technical challenges. If you have experience in early-stage startups, thrive in cross-functional environments, and enjoy going from 0-1, we want to hear from you

As an early employee of Capitalize, you will have a large and direct impact on our success, and will have the opportunity to grow your career and responsibilities significantly over time.
What you'll do:

  • Drive Product Strategy: Work closely with leadership to define the product strategy for our platform technology, setting us on a path for deep disruption and ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Deep Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with the engineering team to discover the limits of what is possible, navigate technical challenges, develop clear product requirements, and drive iterative development of robust, scalable solutions.
  • Product Execution: Own the execution of product work from end-to-end. Leverage Product best practices to establish product requirements, set timelines, project manage the roll-out of new features, and validate and iterate to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Partner Integration: Work closely with external partners to explore and establish innovative integration strategies that moves the industry forward.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure that our platform adheres to the highest standards of security and compliance, particularly in managing sensitive user interactions and data.
  • User-Centric Design: Incorporate user feedback into the development process, ensuring that our platform is intuitive and effective for end-users.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management in a highly technical role with a demonstrated understanding of the hard work involved in being a highly effective product manager
  • A deep understanding of the foundational technology that drives financial transactions
  • A track record of moving innovative technologies forward, especially in the asset transfer or account aggregation space
  • An ability to empathize with users and a love for understanding their behavior
  • An effective approach in articulating decisions and mobilizing support for key initiatives
  • A fearless 'get it done' attitude, with the ability to find creative solutions to make progress in the face of obstacles and ambiguity
  • Experience as an early Product hire at a venture-backed company, a strong plus
  • Your own unique talents - we encourage you apply even if you don't meet 100% of the qualifications above

What It's Like on the Product Team:

  • We really do listen to the user - our product process weaves user feedback, discussions, and interviews throughout, from beginning to end
  • We work hard to move fast - we like to ship early and often and have incredible engineers to partner with
  • We keep a high bar - it's more difficult to strive for greatness, especially when moving fast, but that's what we intend to do every day
  • We take ownership - we have the skills to bring ideas to life, navigating challenges and making decisions
  • We take intellectual honesty seriously - we let the data speak, we try to be objective, and we're OK being wrong - quickly adapting to navigate towards success

Perks:

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 100% premium covered for employees and 50% for dependents
  • 401(k) plan access
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • 12 weeks of fully-paid parental leave
  • Access to a dog-friendly office space in NYC

Note: This role is hybrid based in NYC, with a requirement of at least 3 days in-office.
