POSITION DUTIES

This position involves the advanced level clinical work of providing primary care somatic/medical services to mentally ill, aged, physically ill and/or physically disabled patients of this state-run court-involved inpatient psychiatric facility.\r

Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility. An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Doctorate degree in medicine from an accredited college or university.\r

Experience: Required for certification in an area of medical specialization by an American Medical Association Specialty Board.\r
\r
\r
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Medical Corpsman and Physicians classifications or Nursing or Physician and Medical Services and Special Corpsman Officer specialty codes in medicine field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Applicants� for this classification must be certified by an American Medical Association Specialty Board in an area of medical specialization.\r

2. Applicants for this classification must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license must be attached to the application.\r

Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations , Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.\r
