MAJOR FUNCTION:
American Crystal Sugar Company is excited to offer an Accounting Internship We are looking for a college junior or senior majoring in accounting.
During the internship, the intern will obtain on-the-job experience, be introduced to cooperative accounting, and exposed to many other aspects of American Crystal Sugar Company operations.
NATURE AND SCOPE :
The Accounting Intern reports directly to Corporate Accounting Manager.
The position is structured for 40 hours a week in the summer, and 20 to 25 hours during the school year.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Accounting Intern completes the following essential functions within established company policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Lead and promote a positive work culture through Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
Prepare journal entries and financial analysis reports.
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and assist in the month-end close process.
Record and apply cash and check receipts delivered to the corporate office.
Assist the byproducts sales process personnel by entering transaction data, updating sales documentation, preparing customer statements, and producing financial reports.
Support the accounts payable department by processing invoices as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
Work Environment.
The individual must be able to work in an environment with multiple interruptions, office noise, and competing and changing demands.
The individual must be able to work extended days as workload requires.Physical Requirements.
The individualmust be able to, throughout the day, input and access information from the computer system,perform keyboarding functions, typeand use the phone system.
