The research will focus on elucidating the molecular basis linking cancer metastasis, metabolism, and immunity and developing innovative targeted therapies that can optimize the therapeutic efficacy of immunotherapy. The research project will extensively utilize advanced preclinical models, including patient-derived organoids (PDOs) and patient-derived xenografts (PDXs). In addition, cutting-edge technologies such as scRNA-seq, CyTOF and GeoMx will be integral to the experimental approaches. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment at an NIH-funded laboratory and engage in basic and translational research aimed at improving clinical cancer outcomes. The postdoctoral fellow will also develop new ideas to advance current research and prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
Requirements:
1. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. and demonstrate strong expertise in basic laboratory techniques in molecular biology/genetics and/or immunology.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with a recent Ph.D. or less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
3. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work independently, coupled with strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills.
4. Motivation, attention to detail, a goal-oriented attitude, and exceptional organizational skills are essential qualities expected of potential candidates.
5. Although not required, previous publications in the areas of cancer metabolism and/or immunology would be considered an advantage.

The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available. Appointments cannot exceed five years.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
