Corporate Finance Associate


Job Location: In office located in Houston, TX.

Our client is focused on increasing shareholder returns by consolidating high-quality oil and gas assets across top regions, working with a range of top operators. Their goal is to generate cash flow that can be returned to shareholders and reinvested. So far, they’ve acquired over 260,000 net royalty acres through more than 200 acquisitions to date.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key member of the Finance team, the Corporate Finance Associate will be responsible for detailed financial analysis to support the Company’s strategic decision making and operations. This position will have frequent exposure to the C-Suite and work closely with other members of the Finance, Investor Relations and Treasury team as well as various functional groups across the Company. The Associate will play a critical role in maintaining the Company’s financial models and providing analysis in support of various disciplines such as business planning, competitive landscape, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions.


The Corporate Finance Associate will report to the Director of Finance.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Corporate Finance / Planning

• Assist in maintaining corporate three-statement model and scenario analysis • Perform valuation analyses of the company, including net asset value

• Spearhead development of management and board presentations

• Integral member of equity and debt capital raising activities

• Assist with management of share repurchase program

• Conduct analysis for credit ratings agencies

• Assist in revolving credit facility management / credit-related activities

• Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects for C-Suite and Board


Investor Relations

• Assist with development of quarterly earnings materials, including press releases and investor presentations

• Macro-economic and industry specific analysis and research

• Competitive analysis and peer benchmarking

• Interact with equity research analysts and investors

• Assist with website management

• Support Corporate Responsibility initiatives and disclosures


Mergers & Acquisitions

• Assist in evaluation of M&A opportunities

• Pro forma valuation, accretion/dilution, and combination analysis

• Evaluate corporate impacts from M&A opportunities


Treasury

• Assist with cash flow forecasting

• Preparation of treasury reports for executives

• Help with daily treasury activities as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other relevant areas

• 2-8 years of experience preferred

• Investment banking, corporate finance and accounting experience is a plus, but not required

• Detail oriented and organized self-starter with strong work ethic

• Team-player with the ability to handle simultaneous projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with complex financial models including three-statement models, valuation models, etc.

• Strong understanding of financial concepts and valuation methodologies

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the minerals and E&P businesses preferred

• Excellent oral and written communication; will frequently be working with various disciplines across the company and across three different offices


WORK CONDITIONS:

Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Occasionally, work may be performed from home, before or after normal work hours or on weekends. Periodic travel as business requires.
