About Phyla

We're the first probiotic acne treatment, powered by phages.

Acne causes emotional and physical pain and can be really debilitating. The market is full of products that are harsh on your skin, bad for your microbiome and cause too many relapses. There's been no innovation in acne in 40 years.

We use cutting edge microbiome research and bacteriophage technology to develop new approaches to acne and other chronic bacterial diseases. We leverage the microbiome and use phages to tackle the root cause of acne, bacterial overgrowth, without causing collateral damage. Our products are clinically proven to kill only the bad bacteria while recalibrating your microbiome for long-term skin health.

VP of Marketing

We're looking for a bold, fearless marketer to build an iconic brand on top of our ground-breaking phage technology.

We're looking for a visionary leader with a proven track record in building impactful brands and driving transformative growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's strategy and laying the foundation for our marketing success. The ideal candidate is not only strategic but also hands-on, with a knack for turning bold ideas into actionable plans that drive awareness, sales, and profit. Our VP of Marketing is a positive cultural leader who shows confidence balanced with humility. This person is inclusive, collaborative, transparent and builds valuable relationships everywhere. The VP of Marketing reports to Phyla's CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy: lead Phyla's creative strategy and the transformation of Phyla's brand to iconic status
  • Growth: scale Phyla through both organic and paid, accelerating sales and profitability at Sephora and DTC
  • Consumer, Consumer, Consumer: own their journey from awareness through conversation and retention; be the voice of the consumer every day, everywhere
  • Go-To-Market: create and launch impactful campaigns using consumer insights and data to make investment decisions; lead PR, partnerships and social
  • Team: build and develop Phyla's marketing talent

Core Skills and Requirements

  • 10+ years brand building and marketing experience in the consumer space; skincare or beauty a plus
  • Deep multi-channel experience creating and implementing strategies across Retail and DTC; Sephora experience a plus
  • Obsessed with customer experience from the moment someone sees an ad to their 10th purchase
  • Sharp analytical and quantitative skills with track record using insights and data to drive actions
  • Experience community building and driving loyalty
  • Experience building a team is a must
  • Brings a motivation for working in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range $150k to $200k; compensation depends on experience and skill level
