United States Cold Storage (USCS) is the 3rd largest 3PL in the US and leading provider of 3rd party logistics solutions. The Center of Digital Excellence or CoDE is the IT division of USCS responsible for the entire digital footprint of the company. We develop, manage and fully support the company’s on-prem and cloud infrastructure, custom software solutions, vendor integrations and cyber-security. These include ERP, Warehouse management, Data Warehousing, Data Science, Automation integrations, our Customer Portal, and many more 3rd party vendor systems integrations and oversight.


Job Overview:

As a 3PL (third party logistics provider) we are responsible for safekeeping of our customer’s inventory as it moves through the cold chain. It’s critical that we can give our customers insights into where their products are and how efficiently inventory is moving towards its destination. We have recently launched a project to rethink and rebuild a modern customer portal. The portal aspires to deliver a modern user experience leveraging natural language capabilities as well as dynamic contextualized content to our customers so they can find what they are looking for or are informed of what they should know. This solution will also form the basis of providing APIs and hooks for our customer’s system to integrate with ours.We are looking for a Technical Lead to help deliver on this vision of improving customer experience through this exciting new customer portal initiative. In this role you will oversee the design, development, delivery and ongoing product enhancements of the new customer portal. To be successful in this role you are expected to partner with business stakeholders to continually deliver a great customer experience to our end customers and our internal customer experience teams.


The Job Details:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct code reviews, resolve technical issues, and mentor team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • System Integration: Develop strategies for integrating the Power Platform with existing systems and data sources, ensuring smooth data flow and interoperability. Identify potential risks and challenges and devise mitigation plans accordingly.
  • Solution Architecture: Collaborate with enterprise architects and other technical stakeholders to align the Power Platform architecture with the overall enterprise architecture framework. Ensure compliance with best practices, security standards, and data governance policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business users, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and design solutions that meet their expectations. Communicate technical concepts effectively and present architectural recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • SDLC oversight: Oversee all aspect of the software delivery lifecycle with continuous automated delivery pipelines and quality assurance.
  • Operations oversight: Oversee monitoring and support of the live system to ensure high availability and reliability in production.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest developments in the Power Platform ecosystem, including updates, new features, and best practices. Proactively assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations for their adoption where appropriate.
  • Power Platform Expertise: We are leveraging this platform for our customer portal, so experience with this technology or any adjacent low code technologies is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience and proven success as a technical lead on customer facing web-based solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform components as well as web technologies is required.
  • Experience designing or collaborating with designers to build great UX is required.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, workflow design, and interface development within the Power Platform.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, data governance, and security best practices.
  • Experience with system integration, including connecting Power Platform with various data sources and APIs.
  • Experience in delivering customer experience solutions in the 3PL or adjacent industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Experience with performance optimization and tuning within the Power Platform.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Platform or related technologies are highly desirable.
  • Experience with other low code platforms is a plus.
