Intervention Specialist

ESI is now hiring a Intervention Specialist in the Columbus, OH area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
ESI is seeking an Intervention Specialist who is responsible for planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, participate in all required school and district meetings, as well as communicating with parents/guardians in relation to the needs of the students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree
- Valid State Teaching Certificate OR Valid Statement of Eligibility
- Prior Teaching Experience Preferred
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, push a cart, or lift during the entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including small packages and supplies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to assess students' needs and develop personalized education plans.
- Providing targeted instruction and adapting curriculum materials to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
- Implementing behavior management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Regularly assessing students' progress and adjusting interventions as needed to ensure their educational goals are being met.
- Working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to coordinate services and facilitate effective communication and teamwork.
- Providing individual or small group instruction and support to students, both inside and outside the classroom, to reinforce concepts and enhance learning.
- Serving as an advocate for students with special needs, ensuring they receive the necessary accommodations, resources, and support to succeed academically and socially.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress, interventions implemented, and outcomes achieved to inform decision-making and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education and intervention strategies.
