Data Migration Developer
For those currently located in the greater Portland OR area: Would you enjoy a career where you make a positive difference to the environment?
As a Windsor Data Migration Developer, you are a critical member of a product implementation team that serves our many clients. You enjoy helping our environmental agencies transform data so that they can more efficiently and effectively take the needed actions to improve the environment. During each work day, you thrive as you work independently while contributing as an active team member.
About Windsors Solutions, Inc.
Headquartered in Tigard, Oregon with a second office in the NE Portland and with a presence in Northampton, Massachusetts, we are an agile, growing company made up of motivated and talented team members who share a passion for the environment and finding solutions for our clients. Since 1998, we have been developing systems and streamlining processes so our governmental agency clients can do their jobs better; protecting and improving water, air, land, natural resources, or health exposures.
Windsor appreciates that good ideas can come from any member of the team and our core culture is about valuing everyone’s input, no matter the position. We are team players and pragmatic innovators. Continuous learning and growth are also encouraged. Windsor is ready to help you be as successful as you can be and you will in turn be supporting other team members. Windsor has fostered an exceptional, positive work environment and developed a community that truly cares about one another.
Join Windsor to be part of an exciting and growing team of professionals.
Specific responsibilities will include
- Developing ETL (extract/transform/load) routines to migrate data from an existing client’s system(s) into Windsor-developed products.
- Supporting existing clients by troubleshooting and correcting issues in database objects (procedures, functions, triggers).
- Gathering requirements by interfacing with clients and collaborating with the project team
- Developing new database objects to support enhanced product functionality.
This position requires a high level of proficiency of Microsoft SQL Server’s core platform and T-SQL coding, debugging, and performance tuning.
Your communication skills are also critical: you provide effective collaboration with all stakeholders such as Windsor business analysts, the client, and other team members. You gather and define business requirements with clients. As part of your job, you convey technical concepts to non-technical individuals and communicate business requirements and specifications. Once gathered, a major part of your role is to migrate data based on these requirements into the new Windsor platform.
You are motivated towards building a long-term future with us and, like all team members, we are motivated to invest in you. Your role over time may shift and grow as you develop skills and seek new responsibilities.
