Optomi, in partnership with our IT consulting client, are looking for a mid-level Network Engineer to join their growing team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and assist with project implementations within the networking environment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, troubleshoot issues, and monitor network performance to ensure consistent availability for users.
  • Manage and resolve incidents (Return-to-Service) and investigate root causes of network outages (Problem Management).
  • Assess system performance and identify user requirements based on approved requests.
  • Independently handle specific projects or assume roles as lead, Project Manager, or technical consultant, utilizing expertise across multiple projects.
  • Ensure all design decisions are thoroughly evaluated in line with approved technical approaches, methodologies, and standards.
  • Collaborate with network operations, systems teams, and other departments on business projects, tasks, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for the corporate knowledge base, including design specifications, procedures, and lessons learned. Regularly update existing documentation.
  • Stay on-call as needed to respond to network issues and maintain uptime, demonstrating flexibility in scheduling.
  • Contribute to the creation and sharing of technical knowledge within team and program communities.


Success in this Role Requires:

  • At least 2 years of networking experience, or a relevant University degree.
  • Strong understanding of network security procedures, best practices, and implementation techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network and customer application issues effectively.
  • Progress toward certifications such as Security+, CCNA (preferred but not required).
  • Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail.
