Position Summary
Diesel tech with reefer experience
Current Schedule
4pm – 2:30am Monday - Thursday
Position Responsibilities
- Thermal King maintenance, repair and maintain AC refrigeration and Freon recovery, follow wiring diagrams.
- Tire Maintenance, mounting and dismounting tires, brake jobs, bearing and stud replacement
- Trailer maintenance, weld both steel and aluminum doors, do repairs to trailer floors, doors, lights, brakes and tires.
- Tractor maintenance, repair and maintenance of Cumins and Detroit engines, old and new, from tune-ups to major repairs.
- Brake service and repair
- Rear end service and repair
- Repair engines, run diagnostic tests, find the sources of problems, and then remove and replace faulty parts.
- Check water-cooling systems or clean air and oil filters to prevent engine parts from breaking down.
- Safety: Promote a safe work environment ensuring that all department employees are adhering to OSHA and company safety policies. Accident prevention must be considered an inseparable part of everyday operations. Set safety goals annually as part of the career/personal development plan and develop action plans to achieve those goals.
Position Requirements
- Certified in brake repair
- Certified in Air Conditioning repair
- Current CDL License a plus but not required.
- Job requires a thorough knowledge of machines and tools for making repairs and regular maintenance on trucks, cars and vans.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Reading comprehension of work-related documents.
- Strong service perspective in relation to meeting customer expectations.
- Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems.
- Excellent time management, situational management, attention to detail and immediate follow through.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds numerous time and up to 100 pounds on occasion
