Job Posting: Billing Specialist, Cardiac (Remote, Full-Time)

Hours: M-F 9-5

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist, Cardiac to join our growing billing team. This position plays a crucial role in managing and processing billing and reimbursement for innovative medical device products. The Billing Specialist ensures compliance with regulations, accurate claim submissions, and effective resolution of billing issues. This role reports directly to the Billing Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations (HIPAA, CMS, Medicaid, OIG, etc.).
• Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and authorization/referrals.
• Assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes to all services.
• Process claims for government and third-party payers promptly and accurately.
• Review, correct, and resubmit claims, addressing rejections daily.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve incomplete or unclear documentation.
• Maintain compliance with payer-specific billing requirements and company policies.
• Perform additional billing duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Typing Speed: 60–70 WPM.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other computer systems.
• Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of cardiology coding, HCPCS, ICD-10, medical terminology, and insurance billing regulations preferred.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to operate multiple systems and adapt to company workflows.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1–3 years in a similar or related role, with prior remote work experience.
• Certifications:
• Required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
• Preferred: Certified Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Coder (CCVTC) or Certified Cardiology Coder (CCC).
• Familiarity with the following systems: Dr Chrono, BrightTree, Ring Central, Slack, Odoo, ROMTea, UKG, PandaDoc, One Drive, Microsoft Suite, and Service Now.
