The Director of Admissions and Evaluation oversees and directs all aspects of the school’s admissions and evaluation program, working with an admissions committee to evaluate the fitness of each student in the admissions process. The Director of Admissions works with the Development Team on issues of marketing, advertising, and otherwise furthering the school’s reputation, reach, and enrollment goals. This position is responsible for building a network of referring organizations and executing admissions-related events such as open houses and school fairs. The Director of Admissions and Evaluation monitors and assesses admissions and enrollment data as it pertains to enrollment goals established by the Head of School and Board of Trustees.

Some of the duties are:

·  Oversees the recruitment, enrollment and retention of prospective students.

· Responsible for interviewing, selecting, and evaluating prospective students. In conjunction with the admissions team, makes decisions on admission of prospective students.

·  Cultivates connections with community organizations that work with families and at-risk youth.

·  Plans open house admission events and receptions for prospective students and families.

· Guides, manages, and evaluates Admissions Coordinator, evaluating both formally and informally in accordance with policies and procedures.

· Responsible for presenting the programs and services to community organizations, visitors, and the board of trustees.

· Compiles and develops reports on data collected during the evaluation process into a cogent, easy to understand format.

· Responsible for maintaining the admissions database. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Thorough knowledge of the practice and methods of adolescent residential care and treatment programs; thorough knowledge of counseling and social work principles and practices, particularly as related to adolescent behavior; general knowledge of community services and facilities for adolescents; knowledge of child development; ability to develop and maintain plans for adolescents suffering from emotional and social problems; ability to supervise the work of fellow staff members; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with adolescents, other employees, officials, and the general public; and ability to analyze and interpret data. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

·        Strong leadership and people management skills.

·        Strong relational and emotional intelligence.

·        Superior organizational skills.

·        Clear verbal and written communication skills.

·        Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

·        Experience with and working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software.

·        Ability to develop and articulate a compelling vision for enrollment in alignment with the Boys Home vision.

·        Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team to advance the mission.

·        Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, take initiative, think creatively, problem solve, and react and adapt to changing situations appropriately.

·        Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of at least 3-5 years admissions experience; master’s degree preferred.
