One of our clients in the investment management and financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Architect. This person will be essential in defining their Snowflake environment as they migrate their data into the Azure cloud.


Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing the overall data architecture within Snowflake, including schema design, data modeling, and database structures.
  • Optimizing Snowflake performance by fine-tuning queries, optimizing storage, and implementing best practices for data loading and querying.
  • Integrating data from various sources into Snowflake, including on-premises databases, cloud services, and third-party applications, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Establishing data governance policies and procedures within Snowflake to ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability.
  • Collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, provide technical guidance, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze large volume of data utilizing various tools (excel, power BI, etc.) and even write their own scripts (python).


Requirements

  • Experience with Snowflake (Snowpark experience a plus)
  • Experience designing and working with data warehouses
  • Experience building services (including use of Azure Functions) on Azure stack
  • General knowledge of SQL and at least familiarity with one of the major relational DB products (Microsoft products are plus)
  • PowerBI
  • Experience within an financial services organization
  • General knowledge of SQL and at least familiarity with one of the major relational DB products (Microsoft products are plus)
  • Python scripting


**This is an onsite position. MUST be able to go into the office in Manhattan: Monday-Thursday. Friday's are remote.**
