Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:
Primarily responsible for the design and implementation of electronic hardware and circuitry for Intermatic’s wide range of new and existing products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate products from concept phase through release to manufacturing
Aid in sustaining existing products by identifying and implementing solutions to reduce cost and improve performance, reliability and manufacturability.
Meet performance, cost, and time-to-market criteria as defined by Product Management
Model and construct prototypes to test and validate design / improvement concepts
Design products in accordance with relevant electrical codes and test standards
Work with applicable departments to formulate technical product specifications
Develop test plans for critical design verification, factory acceptance, and reliability testing
Conduct DFMEA and other design validation methods prior to release of a product design
Explore and leverage new technologies to identify novel design solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
5+ years of relevant work experience
AC and DC power electronics design experience including SMPS
Expertise with low voltage analog and digital circuit design
Experience working with 32-bit microcontrollers. Wireless module experience is a plus.
Proficiency in the use of Altium schematic capture software or equivalent. PCB design and layout is a plus.
Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEC, FCC and other standards as applicable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work in a project team environment
Self-motivated to drive projects through concept stage, development, and commercialization
Able to effectively manage and prioritize various ongoing activities with limited supervision
