We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer


This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity that provides the benefit of a flexible hybrid schedule


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, cloud security, and application security, specifically with Azure. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the security posture while embracing new technologies and methodologies, particularly in the cloud and DevSecOps space. This role provides a great opportunity to be mentored in security management decision-making while maturing a security program to include cloud and SDLC.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect the company's network, systems, and applications, with a focus on Azure cloud environments.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate, deploy, and maintain new security technologies, tools, and controls
  • Participate in security operations, including incident response, investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, alerts, and logs to detect potential threats.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including security configurations and best practices.
  • Experience in web application security, including CI/CD pipeline, container security, web app firewalls, monitoring
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with eagerness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team


Nice to Have:

  • Certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer, Certified Cloud Security Professional, GIAC Cloud Penetration Tester, CISSP).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
  • Bachelors degree
