Job Description:


Safe Social Space Therapeutic Services, a leading Behavior Health and intellectual disability provider agency, is seeking a dedicated and caring Behavior Health Technician to support campers at our camp. The Behavior Health Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals with behavior challenges and will work closely with camp staff to create a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.


Key Responsibilities:


- Assist in the implementation and supervision of therapeutic activities for campers with intellectual disabilities

- Support campers in developing social skills, managing behaviors, and engaging in recreational activities

- Monitor and document campers' behavior and interactions, reporting any concerns to appropriate staff members

- Provide one-on-one support to campers with behavioral health needs, offering guidance and assistance as needed

- Collaborate with camp counselors and other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans for campers

- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times, following agency policies and procedures


Qualifications:


- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus

- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or behavioral health needs

- Compassion, patience, and empathy in supporting individuals with diverse needs

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
