Paralegal

(Contract: Temporary | Monday – Friday | Onsite: Katy, TX | Duration: Open-Ended) | Pay: $35 hourly

Lawyers on Demand (LOD) is seeking a Paralegal to support one of our global clients in delivering the highest level of service to internal and external clients alike.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist counsel by preparing relevant documentation.
• Draft and prepare correspondence and memorandums independently and/or with attorney supervision.
• Provide administrative support, including organizing and managing large amounts of documents.
• Obtain further information where necessary to ensure comprehensive documentation is prepared and organized, analyze, and summarize documentation.
• Answer phone calls, take notes/ messages, and emails.
• Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by maintaining multiple agendas and providing timely reminders to stakeholders.
• Collect and prep documents for depositions and ensure documents are current.
• Perform administrative duties (calendar depositions and deadlines, organize related files and documents, manage logistics).
• Aid stakeholders with interrogatories and other discovery requests including drafting correspondence related to such discovery requests.
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
• Liaise between internal team and internal/external third parties.
• Participate in and collaborate on legal department projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Functions as the point of contact for external sources for deposition requests, subpoenas, and production of documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Required Skills:

• Paralegal certificate.
• Previous experience working in a law firm or corporation, preferably in the practice areas of civil litigation or personal injury.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Requires critical thinking skills, excellent communication and organization skills, attention to detail decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Great problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and excellent social interaction abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• Foundational knowledge in personal injury law.
• Knowledge of legal termination, MS Office 365, including Microsoft Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems promptly.
• Edits work for accuracy and clarity, the ability to create, read, and interpret complex written information.
• Listens carefully and speaks clearly and professionally in all situations.

Lawyers On Demand (LOD) offers flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, candidate’s general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
