Position Overview: We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in both on-premises infrastructure and Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, possessing the technical proficiency to design, implement, and maintain complex systems that seamlessly integrate on-premises and cloud environments. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our hybrid IT solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Hybrid Cloud Architecture: Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud solutions that leverage both on-premises infrastructure and Azure services to meet business requirements.
  2. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of on-premises servers, storage systems, and networking components.
  3. Azure Integration: Implement and manage Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage to extend on-premises capabilities to the cloud.
  4. Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of hybrid environments by implementing robust access controls, encryption mechanisms, and monitoring solutions.
  5. Automation and Orchestration: Develop scripts and automation workflows to streamline routine tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance scalability across hybrid environments.
  6. Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies and high availability solutions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  7. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance the performance and reliability of hybrid infrastructure.
  8. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation and provide training to internal teams on best practices for managing and maintaining hybrid environments.
  9. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and security specialists, to ensure alignment and synergy across hybrid IT initiatives.
  10. Stay Current with Technology Trends: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, on-premises infrastructure, and hybrid cloud architectures, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  2. 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on both on-premises and cloud environments.
  3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage.
  4. In-depth knowledge of on-premises infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage systems, virtualization, and networking.
  5. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  6. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation and orchestration.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  9. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  10. Experience with DevOps practices and methodologies is desirable.
