Kodama Tales Inc. is looking for a creative and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing efforts as we prepare for our official launch in 2025. We’re seeking someone who is passionate about manga and pop culture, with expertise in building effective marketing strategies that resonate with diverse audiences. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in shaping the public image of Kodama, driving audience engagement, and establishing our presence in the competitive manga market.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans that align with Kodama’s brand vision and business goals.
  • Social Media Management: Create, curate, and manage content across all social media platforms to grow engagement and build a loyal fan base.
  • Campaign Execution: Plan and manage marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and event-based initiatives, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the creative team to produce promotional materials, including advertisements, trailers, and press releases, that effectively highlight Kodama’s manga titles.
  • Company Website Development & Maintenance: Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop compelling website designs and coordinate with third-party web developers or companies to create and maintain a visually appealing, user-friendly website that represents the Kodama brand.
  • Partnerships & Outreach: Identify and establish relationships with influencers, bloggers, and other key partners to promote Kodama's brand and releases.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Event Coordination: Plan and oversee Kodama’s presence at conventions, trade shows, and other promotional events to engage with fans and industry professionals.
  • Brand Management: Ensure that all marketing efforts align with Kodama's brand identity and communicate our core values and mission effectively.


Qualifications

  • Marketing Expertise: Proven experience in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies, preferably in the publishing or entertainment industry.
  • Website & Digital Experience: Familiarity with website creation, collaborating on design ideas, and coordinating with external web development teams or companies. Experience with website management tools is a plus.
  • Digital Savvy: Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, SEO, and analytics.
  • Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to think outside the box to develop innovative campaigns while maintaining a strategic focus on business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver engaging presentations.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passion for Manga & Pop Culture: Deep understanding and appreciation of manga and the broader pop culture landscape, with a strong sense of audience preferences.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Event Experience: Experience in organizing or participating in conventions or trade shows is a plus.


Work Environment & Schedule

  • Start Date: We are seeking candidates who are available to start as soon as possible.
  • Location: This position requires employees to work full-time from our office in Santa Monica. There may be an opportunity to transition to a hybrid work schedule in the future based on performance and company needs.
  • Schedule: Full-time position (40 hours per week). Flexibility is required, as occasional evening meetings or weekend work may be necessary based on project needs.
  • Travel: Employees must be available to travel to conventions or events as needed.
  • Compensation: Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and is based on experience.
