Title: Entertainment Paralegal (contract)
Location: Santa Monica, CA (hybrid)
Type: 2-3 month contract
Hourly Pay Rate: $22
Our client, a global entertainment company, is seeking a contract paralegal to assist with research and maintenance of artist agreements, as well as conduct searches within the company's catalog for any ancillary rights. You'll organize and maintain all files within the company's licensing system and assist with other department projects as needed.
This position is a hybrid position out of the company's Santa Monica, CA office. The contract is projected to last 2-3 months with full-time hours expected (i.e., 40 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
- Research artist agreements in regard to the exploitation of the company's catalog to be reissued by the company or by third parties.
- Research the company's catalog to unlock ancillary rights.
- Maintain and organize files including all relevant correspondence.
- Maintain relevant files in the computer-based licensing system.
- Assist in department and company projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 2 years' experience working and understanding artist contracts.
- Entertainment/Music experience preferred.
- Ability to influence and negotiate.
- Must be able to work under time constraints.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to assess and analyze opportunities and issues.
- Extremely well organized.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
