Purchasing/Supply Chain Specialist

Purchasing/Supply Chain Specialist
Essential Responsibilities:
- Purchase raw materials and processing services from various vendors.
- Analyze inventory levels and sales patterns, coordinate with sales team and key suppliers, monitor of market
and industry events to inform good purchasing decisions.
- Validate existing purchase order integrity maintained with changes to pricing, quantity, specifications, and
delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant customer and industry standards in procurement and supply chain activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to meet customer needs.
- Monitor supplier network, including adding/ removing vendors, negotiating pricing as well as resolving ability to
meet technical requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish favorable terms, negotiate contracts, and resolve any performance or
quality issues. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Improve systems to make the purchasing process more scalable and automated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role, preferably in the steel industry
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Highly proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and projection management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Team player with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and specifications, with a track record of ensuring compliance in
previous roles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical
- information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
