Title: Material Handler I

Location: Seneca, SC

Duration: 5 months

Pay rate: $18/hr

Shift : 12 hours shift - 5 am - 5pm or 5:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.

Work On Site

Rotating shift - every other weekend off.

Material Handler Job Duties:

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Formula for Success: You Will...

The purpose of this job is to be responsible for internal material movements.

Responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:

• Integral part of the site safety culture. Responsible for maintaining certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Actively participates in site safety programs.

• Required to learn and be proficient in all standard operating procedures that apply to the position.

• Handles all materials deliveries and movements between warehouse and operations.

• DOT and HazMat trained. Material Handler must be proficient in hazard communication and DOT/OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling. Training will be provided.

• Uses the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform all necessary job functions within the process. This includes, but is not limited to, a full face respirator with air filtration as a small part of the normal job tasks and a SCBA as part of the HAZWOPER team

• Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.

• Participate in incident investigations.

• Accomplish day-to-day and recurring EHS activities

• Safety suggestions

• Proactive hazard recognition and EHS issues

• Attend and participate in Safety meetings

• Proficient in general material handling requirements for storage and movement.

• Load securement: shrink wrapping, banding loads to pallet

• Ability to work any shift.

Qualifications - External

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...

Forklift experience – Highly desired, but will certify the right type of candidate.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift license experience – Preferred Qualifications

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs or 1/3 of your body weight which ever is less.

• Strong safety mindset and work practices

• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

• Attention to detail, working with a high degree of accuracy
