About the Job: This position is responsible for applying knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop and tests all aspects of electrical components and systems. Will use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. May be involved with activities of fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical or electromechanical products and systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision and follows instructions and pre-established guidelines as defined by their supervisor.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • develop, build, and test high quality PCBAs and electronic systems (schematic and layout)
  • electrical systems, from system-level to circuit-level, given a set or written requirements
  • board bring-up with initial hardware testing
  • and develop around MCUs and ARM microcontrollers
  • and develop around instrumentation peripherals
  • fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and documents design modifications as required.
  • with multi-discipline engineering teams to design and develop new boards and/or products
  • engineering methodology and procedures to apply principles to design and development project per company SOP.

Minimum Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:

  1. in Electrical Engineering and 10 years of experience in a related field; or equivalent
  • knowledge of system level mixed-signal architecture. Experience architecting multi-board systems.
  • track record of turning written requirements into finished designs.
  • experience with the OrCAD software suite for schematic capture, layout, and simulation.
  • knowledge of layout requirements for signal integrity of high-speed digital signals.
  • knowledge of layout requirements for power delivery and switching buck and boost regulators.
  • knowledge of analog signal processing (filtering and amplification circuit design).
  • problem-solving resolution and attention to detail, willing to lead by example
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • work ethic, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • to work both independently and on a multidisciplinary engineering team



Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  1. in Electrical Engineering and/or 10 years of relevant experience
  • with writing release-quality embedded software (firmware) in C/C++.
  • with EMI/EMC regulatory approval requirements for release to global markets.
  • using and maintaining OrCAD symbol and footprint part libraries with revision control.
  • with integrating embedded microcontrollers (ARM, STM32, PIC24, etc.)
  • track record working in the industrial/laboratory instrumentation industry
  • track record of releasing designs to production
  • project management experience
