Overview:

Body Expressions Center of Performing Arts is a thriving dance studio located in Mandeville, LA, just 2 miles off the Causeway bridge. Our studio is committed to the growth of well-trained, confident dancers with strong life skills, commitment, technique, and performance ability. Our team strives to create a positive and inspiring environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels.  

Position:

Instructors and teachers of all styles of dance for dancers of all ages; jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, technique, PBT, strength and conditioning or other training methods that could add value to our program.

Responsibilities:

As an instructor at Body Expressions, your primary responsibility will be providing top notch, quality dance education to children of various ages. Your contributions play a vital role in the development of each dancer as well as ensuring the growth and success of our studio.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing material ahead of time for all classes using our studio’s curricula and/or other specific methods of training, arriving at least 10 minutes prior to each teaching day to prepare for your day and to prepare the classroom, creative choreography, concepts and ideas, choosing age appropriate costumes and music for class, preparing your dancers and choreography for our year end recital production and/or choreography for our competitive dance company.  

Requirements:

To excel in this role, we are seeking individuals who align with our studio’s values and possess the following qualifications: 

• A passion for dance and a genuine interest in nurturing our students love for dance 
• Strong, positive and upbuilding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents and fellow staff members 
• A desire to grow and learn new concepts and ideas to bring into the classroom 

Pay and Benefits: 

An hourly rate per teaching hour is paid every two weeks by direct deposit. Hourly rates are dependent upon individual teaching experience and one’s level of training. We also offer opportunities for continuing education each year. Other individual benefits apply and will be discussed once a position is accepted.  

Hiring Process:  

We believe in a thorough and fair hiring process to ensure the best fit for both the candidate and our studio. Our hiring process includes completing a written application form, an initial interview either in person or on Zoom, a skill assessment, final interview and then, if we are a good match, a job offer. You will be asked to provide a choreography reel and/or sample videos of your choreography during the interview process. Candidates may also be asked to teach a sample class for the age and genre of dance you are applying for.
