Responsibilities
- Role Description:
- Lead various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, design documents for proposals, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and electrical plans as part of a project team.
- Oversee a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
- Project Leadership:
- Lead electrical project designs including electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design.
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and project design and drafting standards.
- Lead drawing, planning, development, and production work including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
- Evaluate designs or sketches and provide redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects for quality assurance.
- Approve reports, drawings, and tests to plan and lead design projects to meet deliverables.
- Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Lead production of design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Project Execution:
- Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.
- Compute volume calculations for conduit/grounding layouts, equipment and panel wiring diagrams, and relay panel schematics under the direction of the engineer.
- Incorporate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into electrical design and layouts for project financial goals.
- Ensure the quality review of all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Mentorship and Development:
- Train, mentor, and develop less experienced drafting, detailing, and design staff members.
- Additional Duties:
- Participate in marketing and potential client development meetings.
- Responsible for the electrical design QA/QC process.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
