Position Title: Technical Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Birmingham, AL

Position Status: Contract to Hire


Position Description:

Our client is looking for Technical Business Analyst candidates for a hybrid position located in Birmingham, Alabama. The Business Analyst will be expected to own the requirements by facilitating requirements discussions, capture information, document the requirements from a business and system standpoint and obtain sign-off from stakeholders. Additionally, this position will lead assigned projects through the analysis, development, and testing phases.It will be the responsibility of this position to ensure any new requirements identified during the project are documented and prioritized according to the needs of the business.


Responsibilities:


Business & System Requirements

  • Elicit Business & System/Functional requirements & lead requirements gathering efforts
  • Create requirements traceability and data mapping documents
  • Working with Product Owners/Project Sponsors and other stakeholders to define business needs
  • Working with the technical teams to define system and technical requirements
  • Ensure the requirements match the approved scope of the project


Communication

  • Facilitate team and customer meetings effectively as required
  • Attend project team meetings, agile team ceremonies, PMO meetings
  • Effectively communicate & escalate relevant project information to IT leadership
  • Business Analyst assist with taking notes and logistical coordination as it relates to the project


Technical Understanding

  • Possess general understanding in the areas of application programming and Agile software development methodologies
  • Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies
  • Possess a thorough understanding of information technology capabilities
  • Be proficient in process flow documentation
  • Knowledge in the applications/lanes that you will be working in


Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Relevant certification or advanced degrees a plus


Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment
  • Experience contributing as part of an Agile, Scrum team, and waterfall.
  • Experience with user stories and features
  • Experience with MS Project, Visio and Word
  • Experience in Azure DevOps a plus
