We are seeking a skilled HVAC Estimator to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems and estimating techniques, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. As an HVAC Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of HVAC projects, preparing bids, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.



Responsibilities:

  • Estimating: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC projects. This includes materials, labor, subcontractor costs, and overhead expenses.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for HVAC projects, ensuring that all necessary information and requirements are included.
  • Cost Management: Work closely with project managers and other team members to monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay current with industry trends, building codes, and regulations related to HVAC systems to ensure accurate estimates and compliance with requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for HVAC projects.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, contracts, and other project-related documentation.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in HVAC estimating with commercial and industrial HVAC projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HVAC estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD or other drafting software is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented: Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and documentation.
