Business Systems Analyst


This critical position analyzes complex business problems to be solved with SAP ERP and related automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users on automated systems & solutions. May lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.


This position is responsible for enterprise-wide SAP manufacturing and logistics applications, development, configuration, and project management with support activities. The successful candidate will provide functional leadership for delivering on SAP projects & support including strategic and transformational initiatives for multiple business units globally.


OTHER FUNCTIONS


  • Partner with business groups and Varex SAP applications team to deliver SAP projects across multiple business units. The person will be involved in leading business sessions to define high level business goals & vision, extract business requirements, software selection, guide application development, define performance indicators, and architect the solution on various SAP platforms.


  • Work closely with SAP applications leadership to fulfill defined business goals. Provide project management and solution expertise in the areas of SAP PP, MM, QM, PM, PLM, with an extensive knowledge on the integration aspects of different business processes and the required SAP configuration supporting cross functional support and project implementations.


  • Lead teams of third-party technology professionals including functional consultants and developers focused on architecture, design, and implementation. Remain knowledgeable with current and future technologies. Provide and implement recommendations as needed to meet SAP applications & IT objectives.


  • Work closely with business and IT technical teams to provide application support and continuous improvements for the applications that are already in production and used extensively for day-to-day operations. Primary focus will be on the following processes and applications: Procurement, manufacturing, production planning, quality management, and plant maintenance & logistics.


Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree in IT, IS or related field of study
  • 7+ years of industry/ IT experience.
  • 2+ years of project management experience leading small to medium scale enterprise projects that requires fundamental change in business practice and automation delivering significant value to business partners. The successful candidate should understand or have direct experience in or support of procurement, manufacturing, quality processes within business functions.
  • The candidate should have successfully participated in at least 2 full life cycle end-to-end business transformation projects implementing SAP manufacturing modules.
  • The candidate must have hands on design, configuration, and customization in PP, MM, QM, PM modules along with exposure to integration with Finance and SD/PS.
  • Prior consulting experience, preferably in a Big 4 environment with exposure to clients/customers in US and Europe desirable.
  • Experience conducting requirements analysis, meeting with business owners, and performing current state system analysis.
  • Experience in ABAP Development is a plus.
  • Experience in SAP MES is helpful. Experience in SAP DMS/PLM and PS desirable.
