Network Operations Engineer

firstPRO is seeking a Network Operations Engineer for a 4-month, on-site consulting opportunity, with the potential for contract extension. Compensation for this role is up to $60/hr., based on experience. Candidates must be local to Princeton, NJ to be considered.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation engineer, providing support for Tier 1 help desk staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and wireless-related issues.
  • Manage and resolve assigned incidents efficiently.
  • Collaborate with vendor Technical Assistance Center (TAC) teams as needed.
  • Coordinate hardware support and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with vendors.
  • Document resolutions in the designated repository system.
  • Enable monitoring for newly added hardware components.


Requirements

  • Proficiency in Aruba network routing and switching (6300/8325).
  • 3-5 years of experience in:
  • Aruba wireless client troubleshooting.
  • Cisco network routing and switching.
  • Troubleshooting GlobalProtect VPN client systems.
  • BGP configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools.
  • CCNA certification.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Hands-on experience with Aruba ClearPass, including downloadable user roles.
  • Knowledge of Airwave.
  • CCNP certification.
  • Advanced understanding of:
  • VSF stacking.
  • IPv4 addressing.
