We are seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to join our team and deliver robust wireless network services. This role involves designing, deploying, and troubleshooting wireless networks while continuously improving our wireless network infrastructure and services. The Wireless Network Engineer will lead design activities for new and expansion projects, oversee the management of 12,000+ wireless access points across our NJ-based operations, and ensure network availability, reliability, and security.


Key Responsibilities:

Project and Implementation Support (50%)

  • Lead engineering, design, testing, and deployment of wireless network infrastructure through the full lifecycle (development to production).
  • Deploy configurations for operational needs and network expansion, including new buildings and sites.
  • Manage special projects such as large-scale events, overseeing requirements gathering, network design, deployment, testing, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Optimize monitoring and integrate networking tools for enhanced insights and operational efficiency.
  • Develop configurations and operational processes for wireless network devices.
  • Test and certify new wireless technologies and systems for infrastructure use.
  • Create and update documentation, including procedures and run books.
  • Identify and implement improvements in networking and monitoring systems.

Wi-Fi Network Operations and Support (40%)

  • Develop and review high-density wireless designs using tools like Ekahau.
  • Troubleshoot client connectivity and wireless infrastructure issues.
  • Perform wireless infrastructure and Clearpass code upgrades with associated testing.
  • Drive network enhancement projects in collaboration with stakeholders such as Facilities and external contractors.
  • Provide advanced wireless networking and monitoring services.
  • Maintain updated CAD drawings and device records.
  • Deliver Level 2 support for wireless networking services and monitor performance indicators.
  • Respond to emergency issues, network upgrades, and maintenance changes during off-hours.

Administrative (10%)

  • Participate in professional development to enhance technical and professional skills.
  • Ensure compliance with asset, change, incident, and problem management policies.
  • Mentor and assist team members.


Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing or supporting wireless network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with wireless design tools (e.g., Ekahau).
  • Experience with Airwave Network Monitoring systems.
  • Expertise in Aruba wireless APs, controllers, and Clearpass.
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols, including 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax standards.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) and controller-based wireless networks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, respond to shifting priorities, and work outside normal hours.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification.
  • Familiarity with network management tools and troubleshooting tools like Aruba Visual RF.
  • Experience with Aruba wireless equipment, including the 7xxx controller platform and AP33x/AP53x/AP65X.
