Scientific Games is seeking a talented and versatile Communications Specialist to join our high-energy, fast-moving Strategic Communications group, which comprises the company’s Communications, Global Proposals, Creative Engagement and Events teams.


In this role, you will play a key part in developing and executing our communication strategy by creating high-quality content that engages, influences and creates meaningful conversations with the company’s internal and external stakeholders.


You will contribute to planning and developing strategic communications content that supports Scientific Games’ mission and business goals. Primary tasks include writing, editing and proofing copy for editorials and interviews, social media campaigns, company website and intranet, employee- and customer-facing messaging, media releases, award entries, Requests for Proposals (RFP) responses, case studies and presentation scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the company’s strategy and voice, products and industry ecosystem.
  • Champion SG’s vision, mission and values in all communications and channels.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to research, write and edit a variety of content, including:
  • Editorials and interviews for industry publications and thought leadership pieces.
  • Website content that informs and engages our target audience.
  • High-quality responses to government-issued RFPs.
  • Engaging social media posts that build brand awareness and community.
  • Compelling case studies showcasing our success in helping customers achieve their goals.
  • Award nominations that highlight the achievements of our company and employees.
  • Other company-focused content as needed.
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure all content is factually accurate and aligns with our brand voice, messaging and style guides.
  • Ability to interview subject matter experts.
  • Work collaboratively with editors and designers to ensure content is polished and visually appealing.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Accountability to manage deadlines effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be open to occasional travel to Scientific Games offices and other locations for conferences, events and meetings as needed.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities

  • Creative and strategic thinker with superior writing, editing and proofreading skills and superb attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to craft clear, concise and engaging content.
  • Strong verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to identify and gather relevant information through interviews and other fact-finding research methods.

  • Comfortable representing the Strategic Communications team at internal and external events, organizing photo/video shoots, guiding visitors on company tours, etc.
  • Willingness to pitch in on various projects as needed, including employee and customer events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to navigate SharePoint-based platforms.
  • Experience in the lottery or gaming industry is a plus but not mandatory.


Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or a similar role.
  • Work samples and writing test required.



Supervisory Responsibilities


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
