Direct Reports: Layout Superintendents


Job Summary:

The Layout Manager plays a crucial role in leading the layout team through implementing best practices and development of talent inside of the group for various concurrent projects to go seamlessly with minimal mistakes. This leadership position entails guiding and mentoring layout teams towards achieving Suntec's highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Layout Manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and professional growth, ensuring all layout activities adhere to company policies and exceed industry standards.


Job Description:

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the Structural Business Unit Leader, project stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution and alignment on specifications, timelines, and goals.
  • Project Execution: Oversee the planning and execution of layout operations in terms of manpower and people selection for the job identifying potential issues and reviewing critical areas.
  • Quality Control and Precision: Ensure all layout activities meet Suntec's stringent standards of accuracy, focusing on minimizing errors and maximizing efficiency in areas such as checking anchor bolts, embeds, slab edges, and ensuring the accuracy of structural components according to Suntec's standards and project specifications.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the layout teams, including multiple Layout Superintendents and their teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and professional growth.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement: Champion the integration of latest technology and process improvement inside the entire layout organization. Continuously implementing practices and drive innovation in layout practices and processes.
  • Training and Development: Ultimately responsible for the development of the entire team through the organization of training class based on the needs of the layout group as well as through development of the layout superintendents so they can perform at their peak.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold and promote a strong safety culture through leading by example and consistent accountability.
  • Strategic Planning and Workforce Management: Responsible for organizing manpower, developing talent, monitoring project progress, ensuring the accurate execution of layout tasks.
  • Coaching employee performance: Consistent reviews of direct reports as well as layout leads to provide stretch goals and challenge the team to continue to improve.


Requirements


  • Proven experience in leading a large and diverse team, preferably in concrete construction or related fields
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction layouts, quality control processes, and industry technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Self-starter: Able to identify the needs of the groups and prioritize actionable steps for improvement
  • Able to set the standard and continuously raise that level with a group of individuals.
