Our Research & Development team is seeking Systems Engineers to join their ranks. This team focuses on constructing and maintaining a large distributed compute cluster, a petabyte-scale storage layer, operating systems, automation software, and development tools. The hardware and operating system layers they work on are consistently at the forefront of technological advancements.


As a full-time Systems Engineer, you will contribute to projects vital to the live trading and research operations, ensuring they run seamlessly worldwide, 24/7. Your tasks may involve scaling and maintaining the high-performance computing environment, designing and implementing services to enhance the research environment, as well as a variety of other responsibilities such as hardware and software setup, remote administration, monitoring, testing new hardware and software, developing automation tools, and optimizing performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and implement technical projects to enhance the speed, adaptability, and maintainability of Linux trading systems (hardware, network, OS, etc.)
  • Oversee and optimize large-scale distributed compute/HPC clusters
  • Automate and troubleshoot a wide array of technical infrastructure components
  • Address hardware and software issues
  • Perform operating system installations and upgrades
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning
  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux systems
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX command line tools
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting
  • Attention to detail necessary for managing and debugging production services
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to switch contexts and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience and familiarity with Debian/Ubuntu is advantageous.
