Position Title:

Associate Product Manager

Position Summary:

McGee Group is searching for a person to manage and coordinate Product Development for our core product lines. These products include Optical Frames, Sunglasses, Reading Glasses, and Frame Cases. The successful candidate will work as a member of a passionate Design Team. McGee Group offers a fast-paced, creative, challenging environment with which to create fashion-forward products. Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist Designers with creating and maintaining accurate Product Profilers/ Spec sheets with all pertinent information to manufacture eyewear and sun wear designs.
  • Execution of Communications to factories pertaining to New Product Details, Samples, New Product Ordering, Quality Control/Assessment, & many Misc Items.
  • Responsibility to get pricing that meets revenue and profitability goals.
  • Manage the Product Strategy and Roadmap (Calendar).
  • Be an expert inside the company with respect to our products and competing products.
  • Create and produce Mood and Trend Boards in collaboration with the Designers.
  • Be an external evangelist for our product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
  • Assist with briefing and training the sales force at Sales Meetings.
  • Assist with briefing Marketing Dept on all New Product Releases for company PR efforts.
  • Responsibilities involving the execution and maintenance of certain stages in the Product Life Cycle.
  • Work closely with Purchasing Dept on the Initial Ordering of New Products.
  • Full Responsibility for Sample Catalog and New Product Profile Catalog.
  • Participation in R & D for Brand Strategy initiatives.
  • Support the development of Brand Identity Devices (ie – Product Logo placements, Packaging, Frame and Sunglass Cases, etc).
  • Work closely w/ Licensors to preserve the integrity of their properties and translate their brand identity into saleable optical products.
  • Work closely with QC Team to perform a Quality Control Assessment of New Products (as they are Initially Received).
  • Responsibilities involving the execution and maintenance of Initial Stages in the Product Life Cycle.
  • Upkeep the FRAMES Data catalog.


Candidate Requirements:


  • Requirement 4+ years of experience in a related role
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of inventory planning and supply chain concepts in a wholesale environment
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  • Self-starter with a passion for analytics
  • Comfortable owning and driving undefined/ambiguous projects
  • A proactive problem-solver
  • Able to drive forward multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – mostly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
