Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Remote (USA)*

*Candidates must be based in the following locations across the US: Seattle, WA; Denver, CO; Washington, DC; Los Angeles, CA

Are you driven to innovate at the intersection of software testing and space technology?

A pioneering company in the space technology sector is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their innovative team. This company is revolutionizing spacecraft operations by building cutting-edge software that allows users to design, test, and operate satellites with ease. Whether it's capturing satellite imagery, enabling broadband/cellular services, or docking with other satellites, your work will directly influence mission-critical operations.

About the Role

The SDET will play a vital role in the engineering team, focusing on building and automating tests that simulate real-world customer use cases, such as satellite tracking and command control services. This position involves working closely with frontend and backend engineers in an Agile Scrum environment to ensure system resilience and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and automate tests to validate the reliability of satellite tracking and control services.
  • Simulate multiple satellites running real-time operations, testing resilience and overseeing recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards for software quality, maintainability, and performance.
  • Design, analyze, and troubleshoot APIs, distributed databases, and containerized applications.
  • Leverage AWS services and build CI/CD pipelines to facilitate efficient deployment and testing.

What you’ll need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in software testing, backend development, DevOps, or related fields. Self-starters with a strong technical skill set and passion for the product are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and Terraform; experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, and EC2; knowledge of containerized applications, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

What You’ll Get in Return:

  • A remote-first work environment
  • Comprehensive health insurance with 100% coverage for employees.
  • Unlimited PTO, requiring taking at least 15 days off annually, and observance of most U.S. federal holidays.
  • Quarterly health and wellness benefits to support both mental and physical health.
  • 4% 401(k) matching to help you save for retirement.
  • Quarterly company offsites to exciting locations, fostering team bonding and collaboration.
  • An evolving company culture where your input will help shape the next major version of our product.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer to join a cutting-edge team and help shape the future of satellite operations. Interested candidates should apply now or contact Ciara Holmes from Evona for more information
