We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer specializing in high-end residential and light commercial construction, eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will collaborate with our project management teams on system design, project coordination, equipment selection, project permitting, and installation implementation. The candidate must have a solid understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), and residential and commercial single-phase and three-phase project electrical construction and project designs, ranging from 200 amps to 2000 amp services. A core understanding of battery backup systems and photovoltaic systems is also essential, along with a comfort level for designing and working with system voltages ranging from 120V to 480V.


Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical project plans, specifications, and other contract documents related to electrical, energy management, and automation scopes.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure work is performed within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents and scope.
  • Prepare construction drawings, RFIs, permit drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation.
  • Regularly inspect and review projects to ensure proper compliance with local building authorities and NEC code.
  • Design and implement high- and medium-voltage power distribution and electrical subsystem deployments.
  • Prepare electrical project estimates and assist with electrical bid packages (RFPs).
  • Coordinate main service upgrades with PG&E and other third-party contractors.
  • Generate closeout documentation and conduct project completion walkthroughs.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Residential or Commercial Electrical Engineering and Systems Design.
  • High-level knowledge of the NEC and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CAD programs (AutoCAD, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Quick learner with an exceptional attention to detail.
