We are seeking a motivated Litigation Associate to work on a diverse range of litigation matters. The ideal Litigation Associate will assist in all phases of litigation, from case inception through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal, while providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, conducting document review, and preparing for depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as necessary.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to develop case strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Maintain organized case files and document management systems.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Stay updated on developments in case law, rules of procedure, and litigation trends.


Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have experience working at an AM200 Firm.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar.
  • 2+ years general experience in sophisticated commercial litigation.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.
  • Experience with e-discovery tools and litigation support software is a plus.
