We are partnering with a respected law firm in Sacramento, CA, to source a highly skilled Civil Litigation Attorney for a long-term contract role. This position will provide comprehensive discovery and law & motion support for high-profile cases involving sensitive subject matter. The role is primarily remote, but candidates must be local to Sacramento for occasional on-site needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney with substantial experience in civil litigation or personal injury to contribute to a dedicated legal team on complex cases.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the discovery process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests, managing document production, and supporting deposition preparation.
  • Prepare motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, summary judgment), draft oppositions and replies, and conduct legal research
  • Organize and review case materials, including briefs and evidentiary documents, to ensure accuracy and support trial preparation.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and discretion, given the sensitive and high-profile nature of the cases involved.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in California.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Civil Litigation or Personal Injury, specifically with cases involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or sexual harassment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, document production management, and deposition coordination.
  • Strong proficiency in law & motion work, including drafting a range of motions, oppositions, replies, and supporting arguments for court submissions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential cases with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with strong communication abilities.
  • Primarily remote, but candidates must be local to Sacramento, CA, for litigation purposes and occasional on-site needs.
