Position Overview:

This role involves setting up and operating various manually controlled machines and hand tools to produce precision components within a work-cell environment. The position requires adherence to safety and quality standards and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Additionally, the role contributes to improving safety, quality, productivity, cost, and 5S initiatives within the machining department.


Primary Responsibilities:

- Interpret and work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, Gemba boards, and verbal and written instructions.

- Set up and operate production machines following established procedures and guidelines.

- Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, on time, and per specifications.

- Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth and height gauges, and various gauging equipment.

- Operate hand tools and manual machines as needed.

- Set up and verify preset gauges for proper calibration.

- Inspect workpieces for correct dimensions and maintain company quality and quantity standards, completing all required documentation.

- Operate multiple machines as needed.

- Rotate between various department work centers and perform other related duties as assigned.

- Enter data into the ERP system and maintain quality records.

- Support Continuous Improvement activities.

- Maintain a clean and orderly work area following safety and quality rules.

- Troubleshoot and resolve various manufacturing issues.

- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to resolve production problems.

- Work with other departments and vendors to resolve technical and logistical issues.


Technician Operator / Lap & Hone:

- Perform at least one of the following operations: metal hone, carbon hone, metal lap, carbon lap, hand polish, or double face lap.

- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding proprietary manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.

- Work from complex engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions to coordinate workflow and meet production schedules and quality requirements.

- Utilize a computer, EMS software, optical flatness equipment, and other specialized tools and instruments.

- Order, inspect, and maintain accurate inventory records for all tooling.

- Ensure dimensional accuracy of Hydropad projects using proprietary inspection equipment and techniques.


Sub-Assembler I:

- Perform at least one of the following tasks to prepare parts for mechanical shaft seal assembly: bead blasting, tool stamping, Teflon application, hand deburring, tumble deburring, spring forming, washing, and drying parts, or O-ring oil slick operations.

- Remove burrs and rough surfaces from metal parts using hand files or deburring equipment.

- Set up and operate grit and bead blasting equipment according to written instructions.

- Wash and dry parts using automatic machines.


Qualifications:

- Must be a US Person with permanent residence (US Citizen or Green Card holder).

- Previous experience and proficiency in operating non-CNC manufacturing equipment preferred.

- High school diploma or equivalent with mechanical aptitude required.

- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and diagrams in English.

- Follows instructions and established guidelines to perform job functions under immediate supervision.

- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

- Responsible for the quality of work in the work center.

- Moderate physical demand required, including lifting or moving lightweight material continuously, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and standing for the entire shift.
