HR Manager
HR Liaison and Support
- Act as a liaison between assigned location(s), the HRD, and the corporate HR department.
- Assist managers in interpreting HR policies or administering programs.
- Answer partner questions about benefit offerings or other HR programs.
- Ensure coffee chats, new manager assimilation, stay interviews, and exit interviews are conducted and followed up in location(s).
Training and Development
- Coach managers and partners to ensure that recurring HR processes (e.g. training, performance management, merit review) are completed on time.
- Develop and design content for training in specific functional areas to fill gaps in established programs.
- Provide HR training and coach managers on areas needing improvement.
Compliance and Auditing
- Oversee FMLA, ADA, EEO/Affirmative Action, Hiring System, DOT Compliance Program, Management Trainee, Diversity & Inclusion, Mentor Program, and Training Compliance.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits of location(s) including personnel files, time sheets/time clocks for overtime, pay accuracy, etc.
- Manage the leave of absence process and any escalated leave issues (FMLA, STD, LTD, state-mandated leaves, Military, PLOA) and worker’s compensation review.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs and standard operating procedures.
Staffing and Hiring
- Evaluate location(s) staffing requirements and ensure proper staffing in each department.
- Oversee the hiring process for effective hiring of all department personnel and ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
- Monitor the local competitive landscape and wage trends, ensuring compensation aligns with defined pay ranges and pay plan policies.
HRIS Management
- Train managers on various HRIS processes to ensure data integrity and integrity with the data for the location(s).
- Lead and coordinate the succession planning process, ensuring all development plan activities are completed and communicated.
Performance Management and Investigations
- Identify key performance indicators to drive results (e.g., turnover, TIR, Employment Agreements, AL, DOT, staffing).
- Assist/consult managers with investigations and performance improvement plans.
- Ensure consistent administration and review, investigate, and close all direct lines within a timely manner.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure well-documented and defined engagement action plans are in place and progress is made in key areas with significant opportunities.
- Oversee unemployment claims, analyze trends, and manage them responsibly.
- Respond to inquiries regarding garnishments and child support orders in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in business or HR Management.
- Accredited HR certification highly preferred
