Position Overview:

The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. This tactical individual will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our databases, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and support our business operations effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

Database Performance Optimization:

Identify and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and other database-related problems.

Implement and optimize SQL queries to enhance database performance and efficiency.

Database Security:

Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.

Monitor and audit database activity to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

AWS Experience:

Manage and maintain databases on AWS cloud platforms.

Implement and optimize AWS database services, such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB.

Backup and Recovery:

Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Perform regular backups, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.

Database Maintenance and Monitoring:

Conduct regular database maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and upgrades.

Monitor database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal uptime and availability.

Documentation and Reporting:

Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and procedures.

Generate and analyze database performance and security reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

Strong expertise in SQL and database query optimization.

Proven experience with AWS database services.

Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Industry standard certifications

Thrives with case management and end of week reporting
