My client is a manufacturer and distributor specializing in gourmet foods and sweet items. Seeking a Product Development Manager in Hicksville, NY. Key responsibilities encompass every facet of pre-production development, from cost analysis and exploration to procurement and acquisition of novel or existing products.


Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate on the conceptualization and formulation of distinctive product lines spanning various business sectors.
  • Facilitate requests from internal stakeholders and sales/broker teams to fulfill personalized branding initiatives and exclusive programs.
  • Engage in thorough market research concerning fresh product concepts and packaging designs.
  • Oversee the entire spectrum of new product development, encompassing market analysis, competitive evaluations, timeline structuring, sourcing logistics, costing evaluations, and packaging strategies.
  • Aid the sales team in conjunction with the sourcing department by identifying and pricing products and packaging solutions that align with customer requisites and budget constraints.
  • Contribute to the breakdown of product costs and the formulation of bills of materials (BOM), encompassing raw materials, components, labor expenses, and other pertinent outlays to ascertain pricing strategies.
  • Manage procedural aspects such as sample cataloging and order tracking.
  • Establish communication channels with domestic and external vendors to acquire pricing details, inventory updates, and other essential information, while also managing sample requisitions and finalizing procurement details for various departments including marketing and production.
  • May undertake additional duties and contribute to other projects as necessitated.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum 5+ years of CPG experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise in constructing Bills of Materials (BOM) and sourcing products domestically.
