About Us
Sara’s Market is known for its fresh, authentic Mediterranean cuisine, featuring premium meats, fresh produce, and renowned French pastries. With decades of culinary excellence since 1998, we are expanding and elevating our experience under the leadership of our talented Executive Chef, Jean Nasser.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team and work closely with Chef Nasser to bring innovative Mediterranean flavors to life while maintaining the high standards our guests have come to expect.
Position Overview
As Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen leadership team, supporting Chef Nasser in daily kitchen operations, menu development, and team management. This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow in their culinary career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality Mediterranean dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with Chef Nasser on menu development and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Ensure consistency in food presentation and quality.
- Assist with managing kitchen costs and optimizing food production efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Mediterranean cuisine and culinary techniques.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Passion for innovation and creativity in the kitchen.
