LaSalle Network has partnered with a growing nonprofit organization in Chicago looking to hire an experienced Grant Writer for their grants/development team The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding through the development and submission of grant proposals. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in grant writing, with a focus on securing grants from foundations, government agencies and other funding sources.

As Grant Writer, you will play a crucial role in securing the financial resources needed for our client's organization to carry out their mission and implement impactful programs. The ability to articulate a compelling case for support is essential in attracting funding from a competitive landscape of grant opportunities This will be a contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent employee if desired. The candidate must be open to working full time hours, and comfortable with a hybrid work model - 3 days on site.

Grant Writer Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and evaluate potential funding sources that align with client's mission and programs
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry and reports to secure funding from foundations, government agencies and other grant-making entities
  • Ensure that all proposals and supporting documents are submitted accurately and within specified deadlines
  • Oversee the grant application and reporting calendar, ensuring compliance with all submission and reporting requirements
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of client's programs, projects and funding needs to effectively communicate these to potential funders
  • Collaborate with program staff, finance and leadership to gather information and data necessary for grant proposals and reports

Grant Writer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in grant writing, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Proven track record of securing grants from foundations, government agencies and other sources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant management software
