The Medina Community Relations and Fundraising Manager will champion the program and services of Hospice of Western Reserve throughout Medina County by increasing awareness, creating connections, and building philanthropic support for the program. In partnership with the Provider Relations team, Volunteer Service Manager, Life’s Treasures Manager and Clinical Leaders, this position will serve as the “Face of HMC” at all community events and activities. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating, nurturing and growing relationships within the Medina Community. This employee will collaborate seamlessly and have the full support of the development team. This position is located at the Medina inpatient unit with regular travel to Cleveland and remote work opportunities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Cultivate, manage, and grow a portfolio of 200 prospects and lower-level donors for increased retention and support to meet a goal of $150k.

• Identify donors with capacity for additional giving; create personal touchpoints for donors based on their interests and giving. Create a stewardship plan. • Provide current and prospective corporations with requests for support, recognition, and cultivation throughout the year. Working with the Development team to cultivate, retain and grow corporate interest and philanthropic involvement.

• Provides support for all development team operations, responds to donor inquiries and requests for information.

• Plan, promote and staff community open houses for prospective patients and families at the Care Center on a regular basis.

• Create a process for other community groups to hold meetings and small events in the community room located at the Care Center on Route 18

• Participate in all Medina civic affairs including but not limited to, Medina County Chamber meetings, Leadership Medina, Health Fairs, and Main Street Medina events on the Medina Square etc.

• Promote Hospice clinicians and leadership team members for all speaking engagements.

• In partnership with the Marketing and Communications Team, oversee communication messaging (appeals, eBlasts, event video production, social media, collateral, and online giving campaigns) for the Medina fundraising efforts.

• Represents the development team on specific matters in liaison with other agency teams to advance the mission of Hospice of the Western Reserve.

• Fosters online and third-party fundraising activities.

• Performs data searches and track all moves management steps in CRM

• Performs other administrative duties as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or related field

• Minimum three to five years of experience in fundraising with demonstrated success in increased giving.

• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple tasks independently and with minimal supervision.

• Ability to develop and implement strategies to meet measurable goals and objectives.

• Ability to plan, organize and direct a variety of development, marketing, outreach and community relations programs and activities within the strategic goals of the organization.

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and a capacity to write fluently and persuasively.

• Must be flexible regarding work schedule –evenings and weekends required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and some light work and lifting requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds occasionally; work requires sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, fingering, grasping and repetitive motions; vocal communication; hearing, and visual acuity. Employee is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
