Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 (Based on Experience)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled SBA Commercial Loan Underwriter to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and review business and personal financial information, including leases and rent rolls, to assess historical financial performance.
- Prepare and document cash flow analyses for operating businesses, real estate holding companies, and individuals.
- Conduct projections, pro-forma statements, and sensitivity analysis to support credit decisions.
- Identify and document exceptions to bank credit policy while presenting mitigating factors.
- Develop detailed written and verbal presentations for credit analysis, including loan approval recommendations.
- Present loan recommendations to Credit Officers and Credit Committees.
- Conduct annual reviews of existing relationships, ensure compliance with loan covenants, and monitor risk ratings.
- Manage outstanding ticklers, covenant compliance, and client financial requests while supporting Relationship Managers in loan workouts and past-due accounts.
- Act as a training resource for junior underwriters and relationship managers, reinforcing best practices in credit analysis and financial statement interpretation.
- Stay up to date on banking regulations, ensuring compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, and other applicable laws.
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make assertive credit decisions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software, particularly Abrigo Sageworks and FIS Horizon.
- Experience in C&I, CRE, and SBA loan underwriting is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance (preferred).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Commercial Banking, including roles in Credit Administration, Commercial Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management, or Commercial Lending.
- Minimum of five (5) years of SBA underwriting experience.
