COMPANY

Our client is a LONG-STANDING organization with decades of history producing and supplying products within diverse metal fabrication markets. They offer complete design, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service at their facility. With CURRENT, AND EXPANDING, new business our client is looking to fill a DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS position within their high-performance organization.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Operations provides leadership to optimize overall operating results, including the company’s strategic operations direction, to achieve business goals.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the following departments: manufacturing operations, facilities, engineering, quality, and maintenance.
  • Manage the manufacturing business to ensure profitability, quality, safety, and schedule commitments are met.
  • Identify and implement short and long-term growth goals that align to the business strategy.
  • Review job cost, inventory, and other financial reports to ensure budgeted targets are being met.
  • Implement a culture of continuous process improvement that drives increased performance of the organization.
  • Manage projects ensuring that materials, manpower, and equipment are utilized in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage staff including coaching, mentoring, training, team-building, and development.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding operational objectives / development needs.
  • Manage field / plant quality issues - ensuring that corrective actions are successful.
  • Ensure optimum work breakdown, structure, process flow, and facilities layout.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years’ experience in made-to-order / engineered products / METAL FABRICATION businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree - preferred.
  • History of success utilizing Lean / Six Sigma / Theory of Constraints.
  • Able to thrive in extremely fast-paced, deadline driven, and growth environments.
  • Results-driven, with business operations skills, and a focus on future growth.
  • Detail-oriented, hands-on, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experienced in conflict resolution, and team building, with superior communication skills.
  • Experience in capital equipment / expenditure analysis.
  • Experience in CNC machining.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems and engineering, design, CNC programming software, and ISO 9001.
